Transitioning from Spellings for Me Version 1 to Version 2

Introduction For schools and teachers who have been using Spellings for Me Version 1, we are excited to introduce Version 2. This transition will be seamless, with all students and teachers set up on the new platform while maintaining access to Version 1 for an indefinite period. Below, we outline what to expect during this transition and how to make the most of Version 2.

Continued Access to Version 1 Schools will still have access to Version 1 and all of the data within it for an indefinite amount of time. We do not anticipate removing Version 1 in the near future, so teachers can refer back to past results and student data as needed. However, going forward, all new activities and student progress will be recorded in Version 2.

Setting Up on Version 2 Over the next ten days, teachers will receive an email with their login details for Version 2. Once logged in, teachers will see that all of their students have already been set up and allocated to them within Version 2. This means that all administrative tasks have been taken care of, making the transition as smooth as possible.

Data Transfer and Improved Functionality It is important to note that none of the data from Version 1 will be transferred to Version 2 because Version 2 is a completely new platform. However, teachers will not need to perform the manual tasks they previously had to, such as skipping students ahead through levels—Version 2 automates these processes for a more streamlined experience.

Best Practices for Transitioning Teachers are encouraged to continue using Version 1 to build up their students' Learning Words lists over the next few weeks. Meanwhile, students should start logging into Version 2, taking their placement tests, and beginning their new learning journey. The transition should be gradual, ensuring teachers become comfortable with the new system before fully moving over.

A Seamless Switch During the time students would typically be working offline with words from Version 1, they will now have the opportunity to log into Version 2 and begin building their word grids for the next four weeks. This ensures a seamless transition, as there is no gap in learning—students move naturally from Version 1 to Version 2 while continuing their usual study routine. While Version 1 remains available for referencing past data, Version 2 will be the primary platform for tracking all current and future progress

Enhanced Reporting and Parent Access Version 2 offers detailed student reports that provide valuable insights for both teachers and parents. Parents will have greater visibility into their child's progress, reinforcing learning at home and supporting student development.
