Why can’t I see the “Users” menu in Admin?

If you’re unable to see the “Users” section in the Admin area, this is usually related to your account permissions.

Understanding Account Types

In Spellings for Me, there are three main types of user accounts:

Administrator accounts

Teacher accounts

Student accounts

While administrator and teacher accounts share many similarities, there are some key differences in access levels.

Why the “Users” Menu May Not Be Visible

The “Users” section is part of the administration features and is only visible to accounts with administrator permissions.

If you are logged in as a teacher, you may not see this option—even though you can access most other areas of the platform.

How to Get Access

If you are the main administrator for your school but cannot see the “Users” section:

Your account may only be set up as a teacher account

In this case, an administrator tag needs to be added to your profile

Once this is applied, the “Users” menu will become visible.

Why This Restriction Exists

This setup is intentional and relates to data protection (GDPR):

Not all teachers should have access to view or manage other users’ data

Administrator access is only granted where necessary
