🎧 How to Change a Student's Accent

With Spellings for Me Version 2, you're no longer limited to a single accent. We've upgraded all of our audio using AI-generated voices, allowing you to select the accent that best suits the student in front of you.

🌍 Available Accents

You can now choose from a wide range of English accents, including:

🇮🇪 Irish English

🇬🇧 British English (UK)

🇺🇸 American English (USA)

🇨🇦 Canadian English

🇿🇦 South African English

🇳🇿 New Zealand English

🇮🇳 Indian English

🇹🇿 Tanzanian English

🇦🇺 Australian English

Feel free to switch to whichever voice feels most familiar or comfortable for your student. This is especially useful in international classrooms.

🛠️ How to Change the Accent for a Student

Log into your Teacher Dashboard

Find the student whose accent you want to update

Click the Actions button beside their name

Click Administration

Select Edit Profile

Scroll down to the Audio Voice section

Choose the preferred accent from the dropdown menu

Click Save

That’s it — the student will now hear all instructional audio in the selected accent.

✅ Why This Matters

In Version 1, audio was manually recorded and limited to one accent. With Version 2, we've moved to a fully AI-powered system, giving you greater flexibility, clearer pronunciation, and more inclusive learning experiences.
