How to Quickly Identify and Delete Inactive Student Accounts

🔎 How to Quickly Identify and Delete Inactive Student Accounts in Spellings for Me

As part of maintaining your Spellings for Me account, it’s important to regularly review and tidy up student profiles—especially when managing your school’s license limit. Each school purchases a set number of licenses (e.g. 100 students = 100 licenses). However, inactive or unassigned student accounts can still take up space unnecessarily.

This article explains the quickest and easiest way to identify and remove students who are not currently using the program.

✅ Why Should You Do This?

Inactive student accounts:

Still count toward your total license usage.

Might belong to students who have left the school or are no longer using Spellings for Me.

Are often unassigned to any class folder.

Deleting these accounts frees up space so that active students can fully benefit from the platform.

🧭 Quick Method: Find Students Not Assigned to a Class

To identify and remove inactive student accounts:

Log into your Admin Profile on Spellings for Me.

Navigate to the Administration section.

Click on “Classes.”

Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page.

You will see a blue “Search” button.

Just to the left of that button, you’ll see the text:

“Click Search to find all students that have not been assigned to a class.”

Click the Search button.

🎯 What You'll See

A list will appear showing:

All students and teachers not assigned to any class folder.

These users are not actively using the platform.

From here, you can:

Delete students who are no longer in the school or not using Spellings for Me.

Delete teachers who have left the school (note: this won’t affect your student license count).

🗑️ How to Delete Students from This List

Simply locate the student in the list and click Delete next to their name.

This action will immediately free up a student license for your school.
